Radiant Vista
I am sure all of you know that this exists, but I figure we should have a link, too. For anyone who doesn't know this site, it was started by Craig Tanner, Mark Johnson, and Matt Gibson and it has some inspiring work as well as tips and instructions on how to perform edits in Photoshop. It includes podcast photo critiques, video and PDF tutorials, articles, and workshop listings. It isn't... [More]
Talking to Business People
Folks,
This is just one person's perspective on selling to business people... but primarily I've been a full-time executive for businesses, and part-time a photographer. You can find me at Danger.com at the moment. I have bought many many things in my various roles for Danger and other companies.
So when sellling to a business, here are the things that they _should_ consider.... [More]
Photoshop
I have a question for anyone, I have been shooting with the canon 20D using the B/W conversion. The only problem is when I take the B/W image into photoshop I lose the conversion filters and all. I know about the computer turning on the auto exposure and all but even when I turn it off the image is still in color. How do I keep the conversion? Please anyone!!
Stock Photography Options
Does anyone have any experience working with any of the myriad of stock photography agencys out there? If so are there any that you would recomend? Any general discussion on the subject of stock photography is welcome, just trying to learn more about it. Like, if you haven't submitted images to any stock agencys, why not? Thanks for any input!

Juvenile Bald Eagle in Flight
Finally getting around to sorting my images from Bosque Del Apache. This one is a vertical crop with a few minor adjustments.
Grand Canyon - South Rim Warm
It was wicked cold the day I was there and the original was cold and flat. Tried to save something with some play in Aperture. Maxed the white point at 10K just to see what would happen; here ya go.
Grand Canyon - South Rim View
I cropped this to a vertical pano. Anyone have opinions on this one? Can you tell there is a person looking over the rim?
Royalty Free?
Sorry for this stupid question, but . . .
Is unlimited usage the same thing as Royalty Free?
Here's the background . . . you might recall my little dilemna about an engineering firm asking me to do commercial photography for them. I was reluctant to do it because I also do engineering work for them, and I didn't want to mix business with business, so to speak. Here's the... [More]
Help! 5D Questions
Ok, so I bought the 5D, and I have two questions:
1. When I look through the viewfinder it sort of looks grainy, compared to my 10D - images are completely fine. Is this a different viewfinder look? OR did I buy a fluky camera (I ordered from B&H).
2. Resolution question; when I opened up my images with the 10D in Photoshop it was always 180 with a certain size depending on... [More]

Bubble Feeding
For those who don't know, Humpbacks get herring by circling them and blowing bubbles, to get them into a tight formation, then they come up from underneath and swallow whatever they can get. Cool stuff!
Arctic Tern Hunt
Interesting... this was a lot easier to capture than the tern I shot in Montana, because this one hovered while hunting. In Montana it was a !$#@!$ to get the shot because they soared and dived in often erratic patterns. Hand-holding a 300MM 2.8 can suck under those circumstances. This, though, was with a 70-200IS with 1.4 converter, and a hovering bird, much, much easier. Shot at... [More]
