Picking Portfolio Pieces

One thing that I have a really hard time doing is picking out my 'best' photos for showcase on my website. I can critique others' work all day long, but when it comes to things for myself (both design and critique), I can lose focus fast. Does anyone have resources, recommendations, ideas, etc. on how to best choose the 'best foot' to put forward when trying to woo new clients? I have a... [More]

reunion info. needed

Hello! Just wanted to get information out one last time on the 5 year reunion for the class of SI 2003. The event will be summer of 2008 in Kalispell, MT either July or Aug. I am taking random votes on which month is prefered up until Feb. 1st. And I still need "some" students updated information ASAP. Please contact me if you are from this class and give me your updated contact info.... [More]

2008 SIAlumni.com Roadmap

All,
I wanted to post a quick update on what I am thinking for 2008. First, I have been working with a different web system (Drupal for those interested) for some other projects that I am involved with through my consulting business. It offers some pretty exciting features and I think addresses some of the issues we have been having here at SIAlumni.com.

Divided Efforts

Well, it appears that my fears are coming true - I just went on a little search and found RMSP Alumni groups at Facebook, Flickr, and MySpace. Despite everyone's best intentions I feel this can only serve to confuse alumni and hinder our efforts in forming a cohesive and supportive community. It may be that one of the other solutions can serve our community better, but the fact remains... [More]

Quick Links Added

All,
Sorry I have not been real active around here lately. I have been very busy getting my business going again and doing things for Uncle Sam. I hope to have a bit more time to devote to our community the rest of the year and would like to hear what you think the top priorities are to make this a better place to visit.

For starters, I just added the Quick Links bar to the... [More]

Always Looking For Feedback

All,
Just browsing around today and taking note of a few things that still need to be fixed:

  • The bread-crumbs at the top need to show what page your came from so you don't get stuck going back to the first page in a multi-page folder. For example, if you go to the "Nature" folder and start browsing all the pages and then cick "Nature" in the bread-crumb, it takes you... [More]

Small Change

Just a few updates. I added the Recent Comments back to the home page. It's still my intent to allow pages to be sorted by comment, but that's still a few months away. There is a problem adding tags to a page after it has been saved with a blank tag list. The quick solution is to encourage everyone to add at least one tag before saving. If there is a tag in the initial list then other... [More]

Version 2 Known Bugs

1)Ratings widget still not working right.

2)Adding tags to a page does not display correctly if the tags list is initially empty.

These will get fixed in version 3.

Thanks,
Coby

More PC Layout Fixes

Fixed a few more problems with the layout in Internet Explorer.

1) Control Panel - links at the top were not displaying properly

2) Long words listed in right sidebar were not overflowing well.

Both issues fixed.

Thanks,
Coby
