Hills Of Elysium (Portraits of Musicians)
I recently shot Hills Of Elysium in the garage of their North Seattle home. They spent 18 days this Fall recording at the Robert Lang Studios in Shoreline, Washington, and are expecting to release their cd in mid-February.
My favorite thing about this shoot was that I used a little clamp lamp with a home-made foil snoot around it to create the dramatic lighting.

I love the simple solutions you found to do this. I am probably the worst that I need to have mountains of gear and want more to make the shots I want. I need to simplify. The one strange thing is the different colour tones you got for the images. It feels like they were 2 different shoots! Having said that you have created a unique feel for each of the band members. I really like the look you got for Vibeke.
Very cool images, and yes you do not need expensive equipment. Even if you have it, you don't always want it. Thanks for sharing this with us!
