Chippy had asked for what/how info on safaris: I�ll try to make this brief but still be helpful. There are many ways to go on the �how�. After lots of review I picked the McDonalds, Joe and Mary Ann, over Joseph Van Os. This is very expensive compared to general-purpose tours or doing it alone.

This image was only possible with my 400mm DO F4 lens. That's because it's only 3.8 pounds, and after he came in from behind me and while I was shouting "he's got a snake", I was able to lock in on him for one focused shot before he "got away" and landed in the distance. I've posted the last few images on a white background, sort of simulating a matted product but of course with some differences. Do you like it? Do you have other presentation styles you like better? It obviously takes a bit of extra work to do this. Not a ton, but a little.

This guy was sitting on our roof (at a friend's place), sunset-soft lighting made it look like a studio shot. This is the best i think I can make a seagull look. I have tried plenty of times, but they just ain't that good lookin'! Both the Deer and Seagull were shot with a new Canon 400MM DO IS.

I'm not all that pleased with this, because it just seemed so darned spectacular when I was there! but it is a "shape"... and I'll just have to keep looking/thinking about how to bring a shot like this to the next level. At least you can get some idea that it was pretty
